Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during a home visit?
I know getting out with a newborn can be tough, so I come to you. No need to clean up or change—I'd rather you rest! We’ll start by discussing your feeding goals, then I’ll assess your baby, including an oral exam and pre/post-feed weights to measure milk transfer. Together, we’ll explore options and create a care plan that fits your family. Initial visits last 60-90 minutes and include one week of follow-up by phone, text, or email.
Can you really help me through virtual consult?
I use Google Meet for virtual consults—it’s HIPAA-compliant and meets all healthcare privacy standards. We’ll start by discussing your feeding goals. Depending on your needs, we may complete a feeding together or review videos you’ve sent—phones work great for capturing different angles during feedings. Together, we’ll explore care options and create a plan tailored to your family. After our visit, I’ll send you a personalized care plan along with any requested resources. Virtual consults last 30–60 minutes and include one week of free follow-up via phone, text, or email.
My baby is in the NICU, can you still help me?
Yes! I was a NICU nurse before I started my private practice. I understand the ins/outs of NICU life, and I am happy to help you through your NICU journey. During your NICU stay we can discuss milk management and breastfeeding progression in preterm infants. Once you are home, we can work together to transition from bottles to breasfeeding if that is your goal.
Will you still help me if I am using formula?
